Finale

My divorce is final!!!

As of today, I am a single woman again! Eric didn't show up for court again today but that's fine, the judge went along with everything anyway and now Eric has no say in anything. He's really made a bad impression with the courts because of his not showing up twice, his not visiting with his son, his not taking the drug test or at least enrolling for the six-week parenting classes, and his not paying any child support at all. It's all good for me though, everything is fine for me. I got what I wanted and now my divorce is final. I'm just hoping that Eric will finally start paying child support. I do have a number to reach him at now, even though I still don't have an address. He called me sometime last week and came over, we talked for about fifteen to twenty minutes, then he surprised me by actually spending a lot of time with Jonathan - they went swimming. I asked him for money and he said he'll give me some when he gets paid now that he has a job, I told him that I'd believe that when he actually puts the money in my hand. I also told him that I'm not going to let him hurt Jonathan anymore so he needs to either be a consistent part of Jonathan's life, or else he needs to get the hell out entirely. No more showing up just whenever you feel like it. So now we're working out a schedule for him to come and see Jonathan at least once a week for a few hours or even all day. Hopefully, things will really start turning around and working out all the way now.
I'm just so happy that the marriage is finally over and I can really start thinking of myself as single, unattached, and whatever other way there is to put it! I'm free!!!
