How soon after having baby...

Did you need to get out of the house?!?

I remember when I had Haley feeling cooped up at home and I ended up taking her to visit every friend I had within a week of her being born.
When Brenna was born I had 3 other kids (including Shane's son) and really didn't get a break at all. I HAD to go to the grocery store when she was 3 or 4 days old and I remember thinking that all I wanted to do was get home and cuddle with her on the couch.

When I had Emily, I felt the same way you did with Haley, especially since I had a c-section and had been in the hospital from Friday until Tuesday. It was freezing cold here--record low temperatures for the HIGHS, so we couldn't really do a lot, but on the advice of my sister, DH took Emily and me out for a drive and to the grocery store that week after we came home. It felt so good just to get out. Then that weekend, MIL took us out to eat.

With Alyssa I didn;t want to get out of the house becasue I was sore. But I was back to work like a week later.

With Kate I felt great and wanted to get out and about right away - but with 2 in tow in the winter months I tended to stay at home more.

About the same as you Elaine ... by the time TJ came around, I don't think I left the house for a few weeks!

With Kate, I stayed home with her about a month. I intend to the same this time maybe longer since he or she will be born in the middle of flu season.

with Logan, i was cooped up in the hospital for a two weeks before i had him and four days after, we stopped in at the grocery store on the way home from the hospital it is also my place of work so i got to show him off before he even hit home!

the next day we were out shopping for as long as i could walk without pain after the section
