What time do your children go to bed?

Is it staggered based on age? Do they go to bed at the same time even on weekends?

Brenna goes down for bed by 8:00 most evenings and Zach and Haley are in bed at 9:30. Sometimes Iet them stay up to finish a movie or show that doesn't end until 10:00 if it is a weekend.

jacob lays down by 8:30 so he's asleep by no later than 9:15 on weekdays... i let him stay up on weekend

i've been putting nate to bed around 10 so that he'll sleep in a little in the morning

Depends if I am home or if dad is home alone with them.

Alyssa is to be in bed by 9 - no matter what day to keep her on schedule. Kate normally goes to bed at the same time that Alyssa does unles she falls asleep earlier or is a crab.

LAst night KAte was in bed by 7:45 and Alyssa wanted to go to bed by 8:30

On school nights, Emily's bedtime is 9:00. On non-school nights and weekends, we usually let her stay up later so she will sleep later.

Emily and Payton (her's are not always the same every night however) go to bed at 8pm. The boys go to their beds at 8pm but Bailey can read until 8:30 and Zachary can read until 9pm

All the kids go to bed between 8 and 8:30. We let the older 2 read in their beds. They're usually up past 9.

Wow, my kids are in bed between 7:30 and 8:00. Anything after 8:00 is really late. But they get up at 6:00, so they need their sleep. We tried letting them stay up on the weekend, but anything after 8:30 or 9:00 latest, and they are just crabby as can be the next day, because they still get up early.

Haley goes to bed at 7:30PM on weeknights because she has to be up at 5:30AM. On the weekends I usually let her stay up until 9PM or so. I can't let her stay up any later because she gets up around 7AM no matter what time she goes to bed.

Am I meanie?? 7:30 for Logan so he is asleep by 8. Sam gets ready at 7:30 and is in bed by 8 then usualy falls asleep by 9. Weekends it all depeneds on thier attitude.

Geez who knows anymore.

Aidan used to go to bed at 7:30pm no matter what. All of the sudden he is up until 9pm, and fighting it then ...

Ryan used to go to bed between 8:45-9:30pm... now with kindergarten if he DOESNT fall asleep right after school - he can fall asleep at 8pm!! The prob is he doesnt like to sleep if he knows Aidan is up ...

Last night though Ryan did fall asleep after school and didnt go to bed until 10pm!!

That's a battle every night. I send them to their rooms with the TV on at 9:00 usually, and cut it off at 10:00 if not before. Cody's usually zonked out, so no problem there, but Jessi will stay up until midnight if I'd let her. I've been making her turn hers off at 9:30 because she just doesn't seem to go to sleep while it's on anymore.

During the week, Brandon and Justin are in bed between 7 - 7:30. Now what time they fall asleep is a different story!

On the weekends, if we have company over, we let them stay up until they leave. But if we aren't doing anything, usually around 8:30 or so. They get grumpy if they stay up much later than that.

Ryan I lay down between 7 and 7:30 every night.

I'm trying to get them in bed by 8:00. ha - easier said than done!

7:30 P.M. for everyone

8:00 on school nights. In the summer, no later than 10.

I never thought I would be able to say this, but Hailey and Maci go to bed at 8 and are sleeping easily by 8:30. Before we moved here, they were up til at least 11 every night no matter what I tried. It was awful! Now things are great.
It just kinda depends with Cori. On school nights we try for 9 but it is usually around 10. She is totally fine getting up at 6:30 after going to sleep at 10. On the weekends I let her stay up til whenever. She is just like me and can stay up and get up early without being too tired the next day.

My boys went to bed at 7.30 until they were 11 then they could stay up until 8pm. At twelve it was 8.30 and now they are 14 they go to bed at 9.30pm. In the weekends they generally stay up watching movies with us and eating pop corn until midnight but as they don't get up until the crack of noon in the weekends that works out OK.

8:30 for both of them on weeknights.. if not before then! 2-3 nights a week Dylan is asleep by 6:45 anyway! LOL

Friday nights and Saturday nights Austin can stay up until 9:30ish unless we are at a ball game, fair, festival... etc..

I'm having a really hard time with Sarah. If she falls asleep(which is usually about supper time) she is up until midnight!

Re: What time do your children go to bed?

this is my one flaw! I don't have a bed time for them. Well the 2 yr olds fall asleep around 9pm but the 4 yr old well she's up sometimes all night until I go to sleep. On school nights we force her into bed at 10pm the latest.

Re: What time do your children go to bed?

My kids used to be in bed by 830p. But then summer hit and grandma decided they could stay up until I get home from school- ugh. At least they sleep in I guess.

Re: What time do your children go to bed?

The sleep habits keep changing as the kid is growing up. As of now it's 8.00 pm

I used to take my baby to the bed at 8;00 everyday when she was 5-6 years old but now she is 9 years old and she wont sleep before 10;00. Children when they grow up they wont listen to us and they will look after thenselves.

If Mommys home boys are in bed by 930 latest. If Mom working and Daddy home, it's whenever they pass out watching tv. He makes them go to their room but as long as they stay in the room and don't get wound up, he lets them go till they drop.  Makes for awful mornings with Chris.  He is a kid that needs his 8 hours, and even when he gets it isn't a morning person....  Shawn it doesn't matter. He's wide awake and really happy about it by 6 am everyday no matter what time he goes to bed. Alie bedtime anywhere between 9 and 11

My daughter's only 17 months, and we get her down anytime between 7 and 8:30.  She sleeps straight through until around 6 or 7 am.

There's a FANTASTIC book (I'm gonna get it up in the comm for reviews) called "Healthy Sleeping Habits, Happy Child"... I'm not sure the age it goes up to, but around 4 months we started our daughter on this man's theory of bedtime and naptime rituals, and it's changed our lives for the better.

So in the four years since I last posted in this thread I have bumped bed time from 9pm to 8pm. It works better for us and gives us some playroom. There are nights they get to be up later (like dance nights Lys isn't done til 8 - then the drive home and a dinner type snack so she's up til 9)

I finally have Stu sleeping and he goes to bed 7ish most nights some nights I let him stay up til 8. He's up at 6:15 EVERY morning though ready to go. No matter what time he went down.

Ally now goes at 9pm and Drew between 10 and 11, but he's 16.  He even goes to bed early when he knows he has a test or something the next day.  Every night is still a fight with Ally, tho.  That girl just doesn't sleep!

Babies need to sleep at least no later than 10pm. If you have trouble making them sleep then you might want to try baby sign language. There are plenty or resource online teaching basic sign language you can use for babies to help you get them in bed at a specific time.

Things have changed around here too ... I TRY to have Brenna (who is now 4) and Zach (9) in bed by 9:30 but Brenna fights it and can be awake until well past 11:00 some nights with her routine of needing more hugs, a drink of water, to use the bathroom, she's scared, etc. etc. etc.

Haley goes to bed when she goes to bed ...
