Is there a purpose?

My mom has not seen us in two weeks, since the Thursday before Labor Day. She had been sick, and then once she felt better, whenever I would call her to get together, she wasn't interested. So . . . we made arrangements--at her request--for she and Emily to spend some time together playing today. Mom wanted to do it at her house, but her house is filthy and there is NOTHING for Emily to play with or do there. Mom always wants Emily to sit and talk to her. Well, she's 3 1/2, so that doesn't last long. So, we worked it out so that Mom could come here and they could play. When we got here, Emily was all over the place, so excited, and Mom couldn't keep up, so I suggested they watch Snow White. Emily LOVES this movie. Mom had said she wanted to play with Emily and occupy her so I could put my feet up and rest like I am supposed to be doing. (Of course, Kyle and MIL are in the BASEMENT working, so they are of no help!). What is my mom doing right now? SLEEPING on my couch. Not paying one bit of attention to Emily.

maybe it suddenly hit her that she is really going to die and she wanted to play with Emily for sentimental reasons, but was too tired. Or knowing her, maybe it was just another game.

She had said she wanted her and Emily to play outside, but when we got home, we had just eaten lunch, and I didn't think Emily should be out in the heat running around. The last thing we needed was for her to So it's typical Mom. She isn't getting her way, so she'll just nap. I know she's not well, but I am sure she took a pain pill (another addiction of hers) and a "nerve pill" (Xanax or Attivan--another addiction) and that always makes her sleepy. She is always popping something.

Sorry things didn't go the way they should have.

I was going to say it sounded like my grandma. When she and my mom would argue, she'd pop a tranquillizer and it was off to dreamland.
