boy!!!!!!!! Carter Brian was born last night at 9:32 pm. He is little over a month premature and weighed in at a whopping 4 lbs 14 oz...but 18.5 inches long. He is in the NICU. He's having probs breathing on his own ( we anticipated this) and is also not holding a steady body temp and is being kept in an incubater. The doctors say they are confident he will be ok, that these are probs common in preemies and that most babies born at this point turn out fine.I haven't seen him yet but I'm told he has a head of bushy brown hair.My SIL is doing well - obviously she's emotional right now, but is holding up well, and keeping her spirits up. I'm hoping to see her tonight or tomorrow if she feels up to visitors. I'll keep you all posted on Carters progress when I hear more. Please keep him in your prayers....

Congrats!!! I hope he turns out ok!!!

Aidan was 8lbs when he was born and STILL ended up in the NICU with berathing problems ... I know how scary that is (and more so with a preemie)
