Maternity Clothes

I wish I could justify buying something besides Clearance Maternity clothes, but it just doesn't seem worth it when I know I will only be wearing them for another few months and then that is the end of babies for me. But clearance stuff in my size is so Too bad I'm not a small.

Anyone else feel this way?

It didn't matter how cute the outfit was, when I put it on, I felt huge!! I always had to buy the large and extra large. I would look at the smalls and just wish I was the small pregnant woman. But like you said, it is only a short amount of time.

Watch on clearence for stretchy elastic waist pants, tees in a size too big and mens button downs. You can skip the maternity clothes if you try a few regular clothes in a little larger size, and mens button downs are great for nursing or pulling on over tees even after the baby is here. The bigger tees you can use as night shirts or slop around cleaning clothes. The pant's you can maybe take in(some of us can't because we don't sew, but the talented ones can), or just write them off as one of the casualties of pregnancy. I know a lot of places have cute summer weight (regular) clothes on sale that can be layered with a sweater or button down for winter wear.

Lenora, I know what you mean. I did buy a few things at outlets and on sale. I tried my best not to pay full price for anything because it seems so frivolous. Of course, I should add that my non-maternity wardrobe is not all that exciting, either.

I feel the same way. Mike told me to go out and buy some things and I just can't justify it. I'm going to need another pair of pants though. I only have 1 pair of jeans and I'm DYING for another pair. Sometimes though Mike just brings me home cute tops and stuff or almost forces me to buy some things at the store. He doesn't want to look at me in the same 5 tops

I saw "What Not to Wear" Maternity and I'd love to have had $5,000 to spend on maternity

I was that way too! I just couldn't justify spending a small fortune on clothes that would only be worn a few months ... and I couldn't justify not wearing the stuff I had from previous pregnancies which was SO ugly!

It reallly makes me mad to see all the cute maternity clothes out now ... they were hideous when I was preggers!

When I was working in the office, I had to buy nice maternity clothes - esp since scott got rid of all my old ones from when I was pregnant with Ryan... I also got REAL REAL lucky. I have a friend as small as me who was pregnant and we were really one in the same - I was able to get her to loan me a bunch of clothes which was SO nice. But - I did end up at Mimi Maternity and bought a few basics - 1 black pants, 1 khaki pants, 2 jeans - I also got a few nicer tops- but for the most part I went to Old Navy Maternity and got alot of t;shirts. Once I was on bedrest I wore Scotts boxers, or Scotts sweatpants -

If i hadnt had to work I wouldnt have spend any $ on maternity!

It looks like when we get pregnant, I'll be received the package form the "Sisterhood of the Travelling Maternity Clothes" as a girlfriend of mine is pregnant now, adn they think I'll be the next one...hence saving the clothes. With any luck, I will only need ot buy certain pieces. And some mens clothes
