How many bridesmaids did you have? What's the norm?

I had my maid of honor and one bridesmaid. We kept it small just cause we aren't real close friends with enough people.

My brother is planning his right now and I think they are planning like 6 or so.

I didn't have a "real" wedding, but my sister did... She had me (her matron of honor) and 2 bridesmaids.

I had 4 -
My best Friend was my Maid of Honor, and my two sisters and my other friend was number 4.

I think any amount is good- its up to you!! I would have had more- but then I wouldnt have as many guests since they would be in my wedding party! Actually, I had enough to pair up with the groomsmen...

SIL will be matron of honor, then so far I have decided on my sister, and a close friend. I'm thinking of adding another friend to but didn't know if it would be to much.

I don't think that would be too much, but then.. I had a wedding party of 14 including the ring bearer and flower girl. 6 girls, 6 guys.

I had my best friend as my maid of honor, my girlfriend I thought was my bestfriend at the time, my SIL (what was I thinking?) and my step SIL as a junior bridsmaid. Ohhh and a flower girl, she is now 23.

Kyle and I got married in Las Vegas, so we each had only one attendant. When we were thinking of a more traditional wedding, I was considering five or six bridesmaids.
My best friend had a traditional wedding and they each only had one attendant, so it's really whatever works for you.

I had three. One maid of honor and two bridesmaids. I've seen anything from one to six.

I had 5. I've been to a few with more but it gets a bit ridiculous. If I had it to do over, I'd probably have 3.

I decided to have a matron of honor and 3 bridesmaids. Thanks for helping me decide.

I don't think there is a "norm". I had 1 maid of honor and 3 bridesmaids. And it was because DH had 1 best man and 3 close friends that we couldn't choose someone not to be in the party.
