Top 100 banned books - Page 2

I read "Go Ask Alice" When I was in high school and even though it is about drug abuse I think it was definitly worth the read.

I agree that I'd rather read a book with my child and have them ask me questions about it afterward then have them NOT read. I began reading "adult" books at a very very young age and I remember my dad was always there to answer questions about what I was reading (he always read whatever I was reading so he could answer the tough questions) and I am very thankful that my parents let me read adult books even though I was young.

I read that book, too, and I was pretty young. A lot of it I didn't understand because I was in 8th grade--I think--maybe even 7th--but I got the gist of it, and it made an impression on me.
I read Forever when I was in 8th grade too. It was very eye-opening, but I wouldn't say it influenced me to be sexually active or anything like that, which is why I am sure some parents wanted it banned--for fear it would influence their innocent girls to be trollops!
