Unique and rare

Hi all. My son has a rare set of sinuses. There are 2 holes...one on each side, and they are right next to where the top of your ear joins your head. I've asked the pediatrician and he said that they are a very rare sinus. Kind of like how some children are born with extra fingers or toes. He told me the name, but for the life of me, I can't think of what it was. If anyone could help me out in finding what this is called, or maybe just tell me whether it is genetic or a defect of some kind. I know that it began with an O. I'd greatly appreciate it because I would really like to research on what they are. Thanks everyone

I would try calling your doctors office so they can give you the correct name.
