How in the WORLD to you get your toddler to leave hair bows or other "pretties" in her hair? Lauren likes them for about 2 seconds, then WHOOSH, they are outta here. I have quit putting anything in her hair b/c soon Ryan will be crawling and I don't want them in his mouth. I tried following behind her to keep replacing it to get her used to hair bows, but no dice either. Any ideas?

Hair bows or "pretties"

I don't. Kate is more likly to leave them (or let me put them in) if Alyssa has them. Yesterday however she brought me a pair of bows ad demanded I put them in
I think with Lys I didn't really put anything in til she was 3.
I tend to think that you have to put them in their hair from day 1 so they grow up not knowing the difference.

Buy the itty bitty rubberbands that are plastic and have no coating. Tie em in tight and they can NOT get those suckers out-believe me!
Keep trying the pretty bows over the rubber banded ponytails and really really make of her when she has it in. First thing put her in front of the mirror after you put the bow in her hair and then just gush over her-"Oh Lauren! Look how pretty your hair looks! Oh my, what a pretty princess you are! You should go show Daddy how pretty your hair looks right away!" Yeah, my girls are vain now but it works!
Good luck!

I used to have problems with Leah keeping hair pretties in. I discovered if I put in pony tails and the hair pretty is farther back on her head that works well. She still pulls barrettes out that are close to her face though.

Kiera takes hers out to. Doesn't matter what kind of rubberband I use, or how tight it is, she can get them out. Maybe when she gets older she'll leave them in.

Emily doesn't like pretties in her hair, and so I have given up trying. She does now let me put her hair in pigtails or a ponytail, but only with "ouchless" rubberbands. No bows or anything like that.
