First day home alone!

Today Kevin went back to work so I am home by myself with 4 kids Actually, things are going pretty well so far. Yesterday we took Elizabeth to the doctor and she has already regained her birth weight Also, she had an extra long piece of skin that held her tongue down that they cut at the office yesterday. I hated doing it, but she seemed to be just fine. I had the same thing and they didn't cut it until I was 6 and it required surgery at that age, so I think it was right to do it now.

I'm a bit frustrated with my parents. They haven't come to see the baby yet and I wrote them on Tuesday suggesting they come this weekend. I would have liked the help because Kevin is proctoring the PSAT on Saturday morning and will be gone for 4-5 hours on Saturday. But they think they'll wait until the next weekend so "we'll" have more time to adjust. Also something about the clocks changing so they won't be as tired. My mother said she hoped my in-laws could help me if I needed it. Well, my in-laws are 80 and 74 years old. They have already kept my kids for every single OB appt. and 3 trips to the hospital. I am not about to ask them for anything else. My parents are not yet 60 and you'd think they would want to come to see their new granddaughter! They do live just under 3 hours away but come on. I'm trying (somewhat unsuccessfully ) to not get too upset over it. I just had to vent a little.

Good luck today! I wish your parents would take the hint and come help, but I'm sure you'll do great. Wish we didn't have all this strep throat floating around my house or I'd come help you!

uhh tired because of the clock change? In the fall you GAIN an hour of sleep because you fall back. That's the WORST excuse I've heard for not visiting.

Thanks Dawn. That's really sweet of you The pastor's wife was just here for a little visit so that was nice. Shhe also brought us lunch and dinner

To clarify, my parents thought it would be good to come when the time changed so they would get extra sleep and not be as tired. (not sure what they're so tired from ) But I agree it is still a lame excuse.
