Why....

is Ryan waking up so much at night now???? He usually wakes up anywhere between 1:30-4:30 and I give him a bottle and go back to bed. Last night he woke up at 11:30, 2:00 and 4:00 !! At 4:00, I just brought him to my bed and he woke me up at 5:00 before the alarm went off. I know he doesn't need to eat in the middle of the night, but it is just so easy to just hand him a bottle and crawl back into bed.

I guess this weekend I am going to have to turn the monitor off and let hm learn to cry himself back to sleep. I can be strong, I can do that! (yeah right.... problem is I wake up because i can still hear it through the floor!)

I don't know if I can be mean mommy....

I could never do the cry it out method. Emily cried harder and longer each time I tried, so it never worked with her, and it broke my heart.
Could he be having a growth spurt?

Could he be teething or have an ear infection?? Kayla has been doing the same thing lately, and her bottom eye teeth are coming in. She also had this problem when she had an ear infection.

my girls went through a phase like that. I did a cry it out but not all night - I let them go for 10-15 minutes. Most of the time by then they'd fall back asleep - otherwise I knew something more was wrong.

That's what I was thinking too, Tammy.

I say teething, moses does it every time a new tooth is coming out.

Maybe he's going through a growth spurt, teething, doesn't feel good. I hope he starts sleeping better.

Well, I figured it out. He has a chest cold so I guess he was feeling cruddy. He only did it that night, but I ended up taking him to the clinic on Monday because he sounded so juicy when he coughed. He still has it, but all she had me give him is Tylenol cold. He is teething also, so he is getting a double whammy. No ear infection though. Last night, he woke up 3 times again.
