stretch marks

So I've gotten quite a few stretch marks. I've done it all oil/lotion made for them. I did just hear though that after I have the baby to try Mederma Anyone else ever tried that stuff to reduce stretch marks afterwards?

No, I've never tried Mederma...honestly you'll prolly never get rid of them...I sure haven't!

I started using Palmer's Cocoa butter about half way through my pregnancy with Emily and then continued for a few months after she was born. Mine went completely away, and they were pretty bad. They looked like flames on each side of my tummy.
With this pregnancy, I used Palmer's again, and barely had any stretch marks at all.

DO NOT SAY THAT

I've got quite a few and the ones on the top of my belly are pretty big and deep red. I'm hoping that I can at least get them to fade really well. A girl can dream can't she.

Mine were terrible with Emily. They were bright red and like flames going up each side of my belly. It was terrible looking! But with time and lotion, they faded away. Keep in mind, I put lotion on my body at least once, if not twice a day, so you have to be dilligent.

I've heard they can fade...my skin is naturally tan, so my marks are whitish...very bright!

Becca, my skin is very fair, so that is probably why mine faded so easily.

I've used Mederma on scars but not on stretch marks. Mederma does make the color of the scar/mark go away faster (something it would normally do on it's own over time) but doesn't do much if anything for the size of the scar/mark. It also has a really bad side effect of intense itching about a week into treatment. I was using it on my surgical scars and had to stop because I felt like I was going to create more scars with my fingernails digging into it all the time.
