I don't think boosters should be illegal or that they are any more dangerous than any other carseat or plain seatbelt WHEN used properly. We all do what we can to make sure our children are safe and follow the law and our common sense to do that. We have no control over equipment malfunctions and, in my opinion, as sad as it may be for those that have lost a child, when God decides to take them then nothing we do is going to stop him.
The clip of the booster seat accident in this video is shown when the seatbelt didn't malfunction but wasn't being used properly. Would the same thing happen if the seatbelt was being used properly and the seatbelt didn't malfunction?
All I can do is be vigilant about making sure my six-year-old who is in a booster with a seatbelt is using it properly at all times and pray that nothing ever happens to any of us while on the road.
