She has dropped almost 20 points to a LOW LOW C in Science and
15 points in Social Studies also.
She is grounded for 6 weeks and has to study each night in both subjects as well as doing her chores and NO NO TV during the week
Am I being too harsh she was a A student and now she has C's ARGH.

I don't think you're being harsh.

I don't think that you are being too harsh. Zachary's grades dropped too and he is grounded for a month from spending the night with friends and tv and game-including the weekends. The same thing happened last year first quarter and Zach was back on the honor roll by the second semester. Sometimes they just need to be reminded that we care about their grades and that socializing is NOT more important then doing their school work.

Ya know what Becca, since my parents DIDN'T ground me for grades or really care that much when I got a bad grade is exactly why Johnny and I push our children more. We praise them for the good grades and ground them for the bad grades. I wish that my parents would have done the same because I was on the Honor roll when I tried but many many times my social life was more important and I would just keep avg grades. Avg grades don't get scholorships and if my kids are going to go to college then they are going to have to get a scholorship because I am fairly certain that we won't have the money to put all four children through.
But you're right, I'm sure it is payback In that case I am soooooo not looking forward to middle school!LOL!
