So i'm curious to if i even have had any at all during this pregnancy. anyone have any ideas? suggestions? as to what they are like in detail? i get some cramps sometimes but i dont know if its bc i'm contracting or if i have to go to the bathroom (haha).
and lately, i just can't go to the bathroom anymore. like its hard for me to go (#2, sorry too much info but i figured i'd ask) so i dont know whats going on and i dont know who to ask =(

I never felt BH contractions with my first 2 pregnancies although I was told my doctor that I was having them (he could feel them during my appointments). While I was pregnant with Brenna I started having them at around 7 months. My lower stomach area would tighten up and it felt a bit like menstrual cramps or like you mentioned, a need to use the bathroom. I have no other way to describe real contractions other than saying that you will know the difference and you will know that it is time when they start.
As for not being able to use the bathroom, I would start taking a stool softener regularly. I'm not sure what would be causing it other than maybe a lack of sensation or muscle strength down there but you definitely don't want to get backed up. It is especially hard after delivering and going into it with problems already could be horrible.

I had BH with both pregnancies. My abdomen would get really tight and hard, and sometimes it hurt very much, even down to my thighs.
Real contractions do feel different, but I never had mild contractions. With Emily, my water broke, and my contractions came on strong. With Travis, I had a scheduled c-section, so I didn't have any contractions.

Sometimes real contractions will start in the side or back area and last a lot longer than braxton hicks. I noticed when they started to get more consistent in timing the contractions were also real. Make sure to drink lots of water as well. This will help the braxton hicks and perhaps your stool problem as well.

when I had bh with my kids, my whole belly would get really tight......when it came to the real thing, my contrations all started at my back and worked their way to the front of my belly.

WHen it comes to the real thing, you;ll know

Mine feel like Tammy's. They can be very painful. I don't care what the websites say. Hopefully today is your day!

I can just agree with the other ladies. Try to take some stool softeners, often, when you baby is ready, that can trigger labor, too. If not, you at least don't have to worry about that after labor...
