Siatic (sp?) nerve pain

I know others here have had it. What can I do about it? I never had it this bad with my older dd.

I've had it BAD. I use a warm compress, or shower even to help ease the pain. I also got on my hands and knees to try and pull him off my spine a little and that really helped too. Try it on the bed with pillows, it's easier to get up then off the floor. My OB told me to take tylenol, though it might not help she said.

I had it with Travis, and I just laid flat on my back with my knees bent over either the headboard of the bed or the sofa, if that makes sense. Nothing really helped except soaking in the tub.

My chiropractor helped a lot. I could barely walk each pregnancy then at one point each time the baby moved and I was "cured".

I bought those heat packs for cramps and pu them in the middle of my lower back, right over my butt. They really did help. I even slept with them on. I asked the doc and they were fine--even the Icy Hot ones. Remember even if it hurts on your side, down your leg or hip the pain is deferred from the spot right over your butt--put the heat, ice or presure there to relieve the pain.

Thanks. That's exactly where it is hurting.

I had it so bad with Dylan that I would get stuck in certain positions because it hurt so badly.

I would try stretching on your hands and knees, to try to get her to move around as well. My doctor also reccomended that I lay on my back with my legs up on the couch0 butt pressed against the couch and knee's bent but laying on the couch. This never worked for me, because laying on my back made me feel very faint.

Hope ya feel better.. I know some of us know how horrible it can be!!!

I have had days it was horrible this time around! I will be at work and it "pops" so to speak and the kids look at me like are you ok. Thankfully i've been ok these past few days. I have just found that a good nights sleep seems to help.
