How do you handle the kids on the Holidays?

Do you take turns with your child/children's father for Holidays?

This is going to be my first Christmas without my kids. I will do a Christmas celebration with them and my family the week before Christmas and then their fathers will take them for the actual Holiday. I'm a little sad about it especially since it is Gracie's first Christmas but I guess it is just part of divorced parenting and I need to get used to it.

When I was a kid my dad always allowed my mom to have Christmas. We had been doing the same Christmas thing with my grandparents my whole life. He didn't want to change that. He'd take other holidays like Thanksgiving or Easter.

I know it must have sucked for my dad to not have us on Christmas. I think it's the hardest one.

THis is our 3rd Christmass, It was set up to alternate everyother year. xmass eve till noon xmass. then the kids go to the other parents house till noon the day after. We let the kids decide and they want to be home xmass morning so he fets them the second half. THis year will be wierd bc we both have to work the next day. I am sure he will bring them home xmass night. THe first year was hard. I ended up going out to play pool with a friend that night bc I couldnt stand to be by myself. Last year I took off and went to CT for the night. This year will just be hectic.
