bleeding! If you don't know what I am talking about, check out this thread
http://www.babyuniversity.com/forums...d.php?t=154388
I called the doctor's office on Monday, and the nurse kept saying stuff about being on my period. I kept telling her I was in the middle of a pack of pills, so then she would change and say I was having breakthrough bleeding.
Well, it's been six days, and I am still bleeding, not spotting, constant bleeding, and I am passing clots regularly.
I quit taking the pills two days ago. I decided that if I was going to bleed like this because I am taking them, then it's not worth it. We have been using condoms even though I was taking the pill, so we'll just keep using those.
BUT WHY AM I BLEEDING SO MUCH FOR SO LONG?

I have no idea hon, but if you don't stop in the next day or so, I would go get seen.

I know that when you stop taking the pills, the period will come, so maybe that is what is making it continue? I am really not sure, but I would go in.

I'm not sure. I had insane periods after TJ was born. I didn't go back on the pill for almost 5 years and then it finally seemed to get under control. What you are describing sounds similar to what I had when I first started getting my period after TJ was born. They were heavy, clotty (is that a word? LOL) and frequent! I'd have my period close to 3 out of 4 weeks per month.

BUT ... I'd think that the pill would control them. Maybe you need a different one??? I'd skip the nurse and just make an appt with the doc to figure out what you need to do!

Dawn, I thought the same thing--when I was on the pill before, it made my periods so light and they only lasted a few days, and now this? I don't NEED to be on the pill, we just wanted to use two kinds of birth control until we got the all clear on Kyle's vasectomy, so I am just not going to take these any more or get on any others. I think the bleeding is finally slowing down. We'll see how today goes.

Yeah - honestly, it wasn't worth the side effects that I was experiencing. So I only took mine for about 6 weeks and said Screw It! I started a period immediately after stopping (which was 2 weeks early and fairly normal), then this month, it was wonderful compared to most! I don't know if just a few weeks on the pill managed to do it or not.

Totally off topic there .. but anyway .. I wouldn't mess with the pill either if I you don't need it. It's a shame it couldn't help you though.

Did he tell you your options? Such as having the lining of your uterus burned away? Yeah ... I think I'll deal with heavy periods for awhile longer.
