Whole Wheat Flour?

Does anyone use this instead of white flour when they bake?
My tutoring student's parents are very health conscious and try to avoid white flour, and I wanted to make them some of my yummy banana bread for Christmas. Can I just use whole wheat flour in place of white flour? Does it taste different or bake differently? HELP!

It won't work in place of white, in my instances. Also, make sure it really is wheat. The ingredients should say something like "100% whole wheat" as opposed to "enriched whole wheat" which is really just white flour that looks brown. I used to have to go to a health food store to get the real deal (haven't baked in a long time). You can also use oat flour which is usually tastier.
