So Dizzy!!

Last night after I cooked dinner, I went to change my clothes and I kind of fell into my closet a little. Luckily I caught myself and just brushed it off. Later I was walking through the kitchen and I started walking to the side and almost hit the fridge. I went and sat on the sofa and I realized I was really dizzy all the sudden. It really feels like I have a strong buzz or something!

So I automatically thought of my blood pressure. I went to pick Rob up (and realized I shouldn't be driving when about half way there it started getting bad again). We walked over to the store and checked my BP on the machine...130/76...not really high. 130 was the minimum # on the "High Normal" chart and 76 was in the "Normal" range. It stayed bad all night and I just went to bed.

Well, now I'm at work and it just started again. It's really scary and I don't know what else could be wrong. My mom said maybe it's sinus pressure or an inner ear infection, but wouldn't I feel both of those? My sinuses are completely clear and I don't really feel any pressure at all in my head...just the strong buzzed feeling.

Any ideas on this ladies?

I've had inner ear infections that I didn't feel in my head, until I walked into a wall or two.

Hope it passes

I would call your dr just to be on the safe side. I would think an inner ear infection too. Hope you feel better soon honey!

I had that problem for awhile too. Turns out it was my blood sugar dropping. I'd tell the doctor about it, she even sent me for an EKG and everything would be fine. Then it would happen at home again, well long story short my dad is diabetic and it happened one time and I used his machine to test and my sugar was SUPER low. I told my doc about it next time and she said she was sure that's what was causing all of them.

I'd make sure you're doctor knows about it though hon. I know how annoying and scary it can be.

My doctor said he wouldn't worry about my BP unless it was more than 140/80. Sounds like an inner ear infection or something. I did read about something that caused pregnant women to feel off balance, but I don't remember what they called it. Just try to rest a little if you can. I'd ask the doctor, just to be on the safe side.

Well, I ended up calling my midwife and she wanted me to come in. She checked my BP and everything was fine. She couldn't really pin point a cause, but she told me to take the rest of the day off. She actually wanted me to take today off too, but that just wasn't possible.
I feel fine right now and I think Mel is onto something with the whole blood sugar thing. I was starving both times it hit me and it had been a while since I had eaten. I am going to try to snack in between meals today and see if that helps.

Thanks ladies!

Yep...make sure that you eat and get plenty of fluids. That can help tons.

I'm glad all is well.

I always have problems with dizziness during pregnancy. It most likely is your blood sugar levels along with just normal side effects of being prego.
