Pregnancy while on birth control

Have any of you personally experienced or know someone who has gotten pregnant while on birth control?

I went in for my appointment and was asked if I was on any type of birth control. I told them I had been getting the depo shot since mid Aug. The nurse asked when I stopped getting it. Um... I didn't. I went in a week early for my last shot back in Nov.
She looked at me and said "you must have missed some time somewhere. No one gets pregnant on depo." I went over all the dates with her and she continually tried to come up with "what was done wrong" to prove her point.

what an idiot! No form of BC is one hundred percent effective. I have many friends who got pregnant on the pill.

I have friends that have gotten pregnant on BC. No birth control is 100% effective.

I've known plenty of people who have gotten pregnant on the pill. Sometimes even sterilization is not 100%. My dr told me that when we discussed getting my tubes tied. However, my chances of getting pregnant after getting my tubes ties are 1 in 2000 which is not bad IMO.

I would ask for another nurse!

Sorry she gave you a hard time.

The conclusion she came up with was...
That I should have spoken up and said that I wasn't at the beginning of a cycle when I had gotten my first shot 5 months earlier and that is why I ended up pregnant. Because it "didn't catch my cycle" so I was never protected. Doesn't seem quite right to me.

Funny, my dr told me that no bc method was foolproof even sterilization.

I got pregnant while on the pill, twice. It happens with any birth control.

No BC method is 100% effective....just ask my friend who just had her third child while she was on the pill and had been for the last 7 years.

I have a friend who got pregnant once on the pill and once on Depo.

Why is she so worried about it? Is it HER ass on the line??? Just seems odd to me that she's really pushing to put you at fault and I don't understand why it even matters to her??? What an idiot!

For the record, I call TJ "Trojan Baby" because not only were we using condoms, I was also on the pill (although I had my doubts about the effectiveness of it, hence the condoms). I'd say that was one determined little sperm!

Isn't that their job? To ask you when the start of your last period was, etc? Seems to me like their office screwed up.
