I saw this in Walgreen's today and thought it was a really neat idea...
They have Valentine Play-Doh.
You get a package of 15 little containers for $3. The top of each one is labeled with a "Valentine" sentiment. They're all Valentine colors... pink, white, and red.
I think I might do this for Jonathan's class this year. It's different, and by the time I bought cards and candy, I'd be spending $3 anyway.
