I need some birthday ideas...

I'm going nuts trying to come up with some ideas for Jonathan's birthday. We don't really know anybody to invite to the house for a party, so my thought was that I'd get cupcakes or cookies or whatever and take to daycare. Also give each of the kids a little treat bag with candy and maybe a little mini thing of play-doh or something. Drop off a disposable camera so they can take pictures. Just to say he had a party. I can't think of a good theme. We've done...

1- Veggie Tales
2- Cars/Little People
3- Blue's Clues
4- Last year we didn't really have a theme.

Anyone seen anything cute ???

Oh--and I have no idea what to get the child, either. He has a play-doh kit from the after-Christmas sale, as well as some bath tub tint and other bath toys.

My dd is having a train birthday this year. I don't know how Johnaton feels about trains. My dd is nuts about them. Of course, since we took her to our little (really, really little) airport, she now says she wants to be a pilot.

have you asked him what he would like? he's almost five - five year olds pretty much knows what they prefer... try that??? or think of things he likes (favorite toy, hobby) and build on that. good luck

Jonathan loves trains! I thought about that last year, but we didn't do much last year because he had testing appointments on his birthday, and it was just wild!

My thoughts on themes are:

Dogs (in general)
Clifford
Snoopy
Curious George
Nemo

I'm thinking since his bday will be on one of DH's days off this year, we might go and spend it somewhere--like at the Union Center train terminal/museum or the new indoor water park or something. And we can do the party at school on the Friday before or something.
