No mail service Monday, Tuesday

Mail service will be suspended Tuesday, the U.S. Postal Service has announced.

President Bush has ordered federal agencies to close that day out of respect for the memory of former President Gerald R. Ford.

I even forgot that there would be no mail today. I was hoping to get a few things before I left for Durham.

It is a bummer. I have a package in the mail for the kids that I had hoped would be here before the baby was born. However, it's not everyday a president dies, so it is important to honor him. Also, I think it was wise of the Bush administration to get the country to switch gears from that horrible Saddam Hussein and onto President Ford instead. In a lot of ways, Ford mended fences and was a peacemaker. He's a greater man than ole Saddam ever was.

OK, I'm okay with honoring President Ford, but I've got my mail on hold, and I really hoped to pick it up tomorrow...
