He's freaking out!!!

Isaiah went from happy and content baby to crabby and hard to please baby overnight! He's been like this for a few days and I have no idea why. He just got over being sick for 3 days and ever since he's gotten better he freaks out anytime I'm not in sight or for no reason at all. I'll go to hold him and he'll still scream. I'll try to play with him and he'll cry. He screams anytime I try to put him in his crib for a nap or at bedtime. He's just not happy for some reason and I can't figure out why. I'm feeling like a bad mother here because I don't have the answer to his happiness. I'm always so anxious because I'm worried he's going to cry. Someone help me deal with this.

Didn't your dh just get home? Maybe the change is upsetting him.

My DH isn't home yet. He won't be home until Februrary.

I was thinking maybe it has to do with the emergency room visit? It was really traumatizing for him. They did XRAYS to see if he had pnemonia and that made him freak out really bad. I'm not sure what's wrong with him though or how to make it better. It's times like these that I wish I could read minds.

Oh well, scratch my idea. It sounds like you are right on track. It probably is left over fear from the ER visit. Poor little guy.

i hope he calms down soon, what i always found was once i stopped freaking out, Logan would calm down a ton, he fed off my emotions so much it was and is scary

Is it possible he has an ear infection or something else? Usually there is a reason for that sudden change.

He is about 9 months or so right? Ryan is starting to do this also, if we leave the room he freaks at first. I think that is normal to a degree.

I remember Jonathan being in a real "funk" for several days after being sick at that age. Clingy, whiny, and all out of sorts. Nothing we did was right. He didn't sleep normally. He didn't eat normally. It was frustrating.

The other ladies are right. He will feed off of your emotions. If you're uptight, he probably will be, too.

Is there anything he really enjoys, or a toy/food he really likes that you can use to distract him and calm him down?

You know-Jon still acts like that if he has an ear infection. I took him to ER for respiratory problems and he checked out fine, but he kept screaming and was just not himself. I took him to the doctor the next day and they checked his ears--sure enough... Ear infection.

I wish I had more ideas for you! Just hang in there!
