I think it is truly impossible. You have to go first. That means even if you never screw up, you're going to run out of moves first and have to put a line somewhere that the computer will use to block it in. Once the computer blocks one in, it gets the next move. When you've used up all the possible "free" spaces, it will just block them in one after another.

I don't see any possible way to win. Of course, I'm way to impatient to try my theory out.
