SNOHOMISH -- The cannon shot that ripped into Brett Karch's leg, causing a gaping combat-style wound, has also torn a hole in his hometown community of Snohomish.

Ok, these people need a clue. The boy nearly LOST HIS LEG. He COULD HAVE DIED. And they're worried about the tradition being lost, like he did this on purpose or something. Sheesh.

I can understand being attached to traditions and not wanting to see them get left behind but come on... this kid almost lost his leg and it is definitely not his fault. I feel horrible for this family because this isn't a situation they are going to be able to put behind them while living in this same town.

That poor kid and his family!

I can understand kids acting this way, but their parents? What are you teaching your kids, people? Certainly not compassion and loving your fellow man.
