Leg injury

Well Rach was on a trampoline today and managed to hurt her shin somehow...she said she hit the edge of the trampoline but she did not fall off ( I was not right there with her but yes she was supervised by my good friend). There is no visible bruising or swelling, but right now she won't stand on it or let you touch it. I gave her motrin and she's sleeping on the couch now. I was gonna give it a few days and see if it improves and if not I will take her in. Should I do anything else for it? It would swell if it was fractured, right?

hmm... she won't stand on it or she can't? I don't know if fractures swell. I dont' think they always do. You should definitly put some ice on it if she will let you, and the motrin too.

Well when she woke up I did get her to walk a short ways, I held her hands for her. She would barely put any weight on it and said it hurts under her knee and on her shin. Oh and she said she didn't hit the edge, she was kinda in the middle when she fell. I'm thinking it's a bad strain and she's really too afraid to use her leg.

Use your judgement Becca... I would just keep an eye on her, maybe if she's still favoring it tomorrow or the next day take her in.

Yep... Rest, Ice, Elevation..... If she isn't doing better by tomorrow, have it xrayed

I would keep your eye on it. Watch for any bruising or swelling. Ice and elevate it. If it starts to bruise and swell then i would take her in, or if she says it gets any worse an dwon't walk on it.
