I called my dad

I talked to my dad for the first time since 1992. It was all the photos my cousin Sandra sent me of my own grandpa. We were as close as two peas in a pod. It just makes me sad that my dds do not have that kind of relationship with a grandparent. So I called my dad.

The first thing he said to me is "Your dad loves you. He has always loved you." I waited for him to say that my whole childhood and it never happened. So when he finally said it, I just started crying and ended up talking to him for over two hours.

I hope we can arrange to meet in person sometime maybe this summer. I think he really has changed.

I hope he's changed, too. I wish I had a decent relationship with my grandparents while growing up. I'm doing what I can for the kids.

I'm very happy for you Lenora. It would be wonderful if he could be involved in the girls' lives as they are growing up.

Wow hon that is great......and I know how nice it is to finally hear those words you have waited so long to hear I hope that you guys can meet this summer....and that he has changed...for the better

That was a big step for you. Im glad it worked out in your favor and hope that you do get to see him so your dds can meet there granddad
