Sleeping a lot

Cara definitely sleeps more than 16 hours a day. In fact, she seems to sleep an awful lot. The dr said she had a mild case of jaundice, if that has anything to do with it. I was just wondering how much sleep is normal for a newborn? Is 20 hours a day out of normal range? She's asleep the majority of the time. Kate never slept. This sleeping baby stuff is very new for me.

I think it's normal, one of my kids did that.. I just don't remember who. I say enjoy it while it lasts lol.

Gabe sleeps that much. He's a great sleeper, just not in his own bed Everyone is amazed at how much he sleeps, even the Grandma's.

I was told 20 hours is normal, he seems happy and alert when he is awake so I'm thankful he's easy going for the most part. (except now that the poor guy is constipated )

Sounds good to me too. Alyssa slept a ton when she was little. Kate & Peyton only sleep when they are/ were held.

It's normal. Enjoy it while it lasts. Mine NEVER slept that much. Of course, they had reasons (belly issues) why.

Same here, Kim. Kate barely slept at all before she was three, because of her belly issues. Now, she sleeps as much as the next kid.

Don't worry, I am loving it! I just wondered if it was normal. This content sleeping baby stuff is after her sister.
