Baby carriers/slings?

Did you use one?

What did you like/dislike about it?

I used a snugli with Lys mainly as a back carrier and she loved it and I used a bjorn with Kate but only a few times.

Now I still have both for Peyton but I'd like to do something more comfortable for her/me for when we pick up around the house.

She was in her bjorn for like 2 hours this morning while I worked and fell asleep and when she fussed she fell back asleep.

So I guess I am looking at a sling? maybe.

Moby Wrap all the way!
I used a Bjorn for my son and a sling. The Bjorn killed my back and shoulders and the dling ravaged my shoulders even more, plus I could never get the hang of nursing in it. My mom bought me a Moby Wrap, which I had never heard of, but it is the best way to carry baby around. It is a large piece of fabric that you can wrap many different ways to carry baby, even twins. Great for nursing discreetly and hands free, wearing in front, faced in or out, wearing in back, and on the hip. No painful aching backs or shoulders, and can carry a child up to 35 lbs.I love it, I could be a spokesperson. go to www.mobywrap.com they have many different colors and 2 versions, one for heavier babies, Moby D. Check it out

I never used one with my first three kids. A friend gave me her sling and her Snugli. I used the sling once when we were on a walk where I couldn't use a stroller. I've used the Snugli once now on a hike. The sling hurt my shoulders and neck. The Snugli was OK, but nothing I'd want to just use unless I had too. The Moby wrap looks really neat. It looks hard to figure out how to use though.

I have a Baby Bjorn and used ti for both kids. Still do for Noah. They both loved it and I felt they were realy secure in it. I also have a Kangaroo Karrier sling. It wasn't cheap and I could never get the hang of it. It's supposed to be wonderful but I never got it. Noah slept in it once and fussed every other time he was near it. I have a Hip Hammock which is nice for when he's up and awake b/c he can look around but you have to hold onto them more than in the Bjorn.

And finally, (jeez, I didn't know I had such a collection of carriers but I use the Bjorn the most) I have a Mei Tei carrier. I love the look of it and it's comfy for mom and baby. My friend bought it for me from a friend of hers who makes them. It's really a nice job and has great colors--black, tan and brown in a cool pattern. I KNOW you could make on for yourself. Maybe give that a try?

I used a homemade sling with cloth I bought from the store. Its like the moby wrap i think? if thats the one you tie off and its works great, it makes it fell like your baby is part of you (baby wearing). Plus this way you can choose the colors and fabric, almost any strong type works with a little stretch to it.

Baby Trekker all the way. I started with the Bjorn. It was good when my daughter got too big I got the Trekker. It goes from 8-40lbs and you can for baby facing inward or out or use as a back carrier.
