Returning/ Rejecting baby welcoming gifts

anyone ever turn someone's gift down?

We got a gift from this couple that we know and Kev has decided to return it unopened to them.

These are the same people who are pushing us out of our stores and doing everything they can to shut us down and get us out.

I totally understand WHY he's doing it. But there is the part of me that thinks that you should keep personal & business seperate and just say thank you and accept it. Although alot of the store stuff has turned personal.

I told him I was ok with him returning it. But what if this lady catches me at the store one day and trys to give it to me (I am not sure maybe she is there and he is personally returning it - then Maybe I can just ignore the whole thing)

I just have this weird feeling in my gut. They have always been nice to me in person but then stab Kev in the back every chance they get.

I personally would just accept it and move on. I don't like confrontation and avoid it at all costs though.

I would just accept it and give it to charity. I can totally understand Kev's point of view, but you guys are almost out of there and you want everything to go as smoothly as possible. You don't want them screwing up the sale of those businesses.

That is a tough one.....I mean I know that they are nice to you and mean to Kevin....BUT like you said....work stuff is work stuff, and personal stuff should be kept separate.....the hard part with that is that the DQ's are your personal stuff, especially with all that is going on.

I personally would keep it and move on, but only because I don't like confrontation either

I'd take it and enjoy the gift. Forget who gave it to you.

I would return it for $$$ or sell it on e-bay!

I would accept it, and either return it to the store where it was purchased for a credit, or sell it on eBay to get some funds. Either way, you can use the money toward something you need.

Accept it and be the bigger person....

Yep .. just accept it. My mother always says that you have to take a gift with good intentions or God will stop giving them to you!

Well - he just left it on the steps (where they had put it) inside.

I agree with all of you - so maybe next time I stop by that store I will just take it and send them a nice Thank you note.
