Anyone know someone in the Norfolk area?

I tried Googling for playgroups around here since I *really* need to get out and I know the socializing would be good for H. It is harder than it looks to find something like that.
It may sound snobby, but I want a more military based group...SO's of military will understand stuff that I may have to go through and such more I think. I know it is only a playgroup, but I don't have many friends around here (in fact, I have 2 LOL) so I want people I can mesh with well..I am too chicken to branch out more *blush* the military type people are a security blankie for now


Any suggestions?

Have you checked on base? Maybe they have suggestions?

I tried checking online for that, but I have no idea where to look on the base itself (remember he is on a Navy base, not a Marine base)

Yammie... I'm not sure which base you are at in Norfolk, since there are a million there.
On an Army Base, you would contact Army Community Service (ACS) about a playgroup, and they are also usually listed in the base newspaper, and on the bulletin board at the library. I'm not sure what the Navy Community equivalent to ACS is called.

I would suggest calling Military One Source at 1-800-342-9647. I don't know if they will have a listing of playgroups for that base or not, but if they don't they can tell you who to call on base to get one.

We live out in town...but he is at NAS Norfolk, the Marine section of it at least lol

I used to live there up until this past July!! I have a playgroup I totally LOVED there, I so miss them. Most are Navy wifes... If you wanna PM me some sort of contact info I can pass it along and they can tell you when they're getting together again and all that!!
