: Just wanted to give a followup on Destiny..

well the exterminator cameby and i showed him what i found in her hair, he took it in and called me back and told me that it was lice. he said that its possible she could have gotten it from the carpets or from someone else. well i called her dr and she told me to use vaseline or baby oil to remove it. Destiny didnt have much going on but still i cleared it all. i found NIX that you can use for 3 months of age so I used it. I just went ahead and did all our of heads and wrote a note out to the parents of my childcare kids and had them do theyre kids hair too. I dont know how she can get them, It was a pain in the butt process and it was my first time doing this

if you have any stuffed animals and items like that (stuffed toys) put them in a plastic bag and throw them in your freezer. The cold temp will kill any that are in there

Good luck at getting rid of it all hon. I am not looking forward to the day that I have to do that

Lice is such a pain. Hopefully you got rid of it right away. boil the hair brushes, wash bedding, vacuum everything and do the freezer thing.

Oh man, lice soo sux! Payton ended up having to be treated 3x! Oh, make sure you do Destiny's head again in a week or else you will have a reinfestation. Make sure all your babysitting kids do the same. Make sure your parents know that none of them are allowed back to daycare without making sure that they are lice and nit free otherwise you will NEVER get rid of them. If you don't have enough room in your freezer for all the stuffed animals then put them in garbage bags tied tight and don't take them out for 2 weeks. The lice will suffercate to death. Also, make sure you wash all the pillows as well as the sheets and buy the spray to use on any furtiture that ya'll rest your head against.
I had head lice with Payton for the first time in my entire life just this past fall and it is not fun at all. Rest assured that anyone can get head lice so don't feel bad.

Oh That stinks! Poor thing!

The only thing with lice is the fact that you cant/shouldn't pre-treat. I wouldn't treat anyone's hair unless you find nits in the hair.

Hopefully you get it all cleared up soon

thanks everyone, geesh youve guys have been a HUGE help on me! for real!! well ive been rechecking her hair, still nothing so that is good news!! ive also been doing my hair, just in case sooo ill be doing the daily check for the next couple of days. i did buy that spray and sprayed down her mattress carseat, my bed as well. her stuff animals havent been in her room yet so im still planning on leaving them outdoors. thanks everyone!!
