What is your child(ren) reading?

Zachary was getting me SO frustrated cuz I have bought the child literally 100s of books and he was rereading the same ones over and over again! Any suggestions that I would make out of the classics I have bought he would wrinkle up his nose to. Well finally I just MADE the child read Beverly Cleary's Ralph S. Mouse. Well golly gee! Mommy may know something after all! The boy read it in 3 days and now has me bidding on the next two from that series. I just love Beverly Cleary! I am so glad that I have picked up so many of her books over the years. Right now while ZJ is waiting on me to get the next two Ralph books he is reading Henry and Ribsy.
What books are your kiddos into right now? I need more ideas before he runs through all the Beverly Cleary books. I do have a bunch of Judy Bloom but I think that they are too 'girly' for Zach. Hmm, what about the original Boxcar Children? Anyone's kids like those? I remember REALLY loving them!

I'm looking into a few series by Jack Gantos. The one I'm most interested in is the Joey Pigza sereies. They are more for boys than girls but are written for/about a boy with ADD, his ups & downs, and how he finally manages to get his life under some amount of control. It is recommended for ages 10 & up and I *hope* Haley is interested.

Right now she is reading a few AR books required by the school but doesn't seem too interested in them.

Alexandria is reading The Outsiders.

William's class is doing a Junie B. and Horrible Harry reading challenge this month. He read those books in kindergarten, so he's breezed right through this challenge. His school also does the Scholastic Reading Counts program, and he has over 300 points so far and is in second place in the entire school. He reads way above grade level, and he likes the Boxcar Children books, and he also likes sports books by Matt Christopher (I think that's the guy's name).

At bed time we've been reading the Little House Series, and we're almost finished. I think we may do the Narnia books next.

I myself have been reading the Little House series as well Such memories and I can't wait for the girls to enjoy them.
My boys really enjoyed the Junie B. books as well. I don't think that they have ever read the Harry the Horrible books. They do like those dern old Captian Underpants though. To each his own I guess!

David has read most of the Boxcar Children books. He also likes the A to Z Mystery series, Encyclopedia Brown books, all the Beverly Cleary books, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. Right now he's reading a book I assigned to him called My Side of the Mountain. He actually likes it (which is amazing, because he usually complains if it's something I tell him to read )
