Help, Kinda freaking here!

Well ya'll know how I passed out Saturday night for no 'real' reason. I had thought that it was possibly because I hadn't eaten a whole lot that day although I did have 4 chicken nuggets and a candy bar before we left. I went to the dr yesterday and told her what happened. She didn't seem concerned over the fact that I had passed out, just checked me for a cuncussion(sp?) etc.
Okay, so today I worked all day long with my MIL. I had coffee cake for breakfast with coffee of course. At lunch MIL bought me a grilled chicken sandwich with fries and diet coke from Jack n the Box. It was HUGE and I ate it all. I also had a granola bar between breakfast and lunch and a candy bar (real healthy, i know) for snack before we left at 4:30p. So, after we got back to my MIL's I got my car, went and got gas and then drove to my parent's house to pick up Payton. ON THE HIGHWAY on the way to get Payton I almost passed out again! HOly crap did it scare me!! I could feel myself getting really dizzy so I slowed down but it was a 2 lane hwy and there was no where for me to pull over. Thank GOD I gained my composure aside from the fact of having rapid heart palputations which were probably caused from anxiety of thinking that I was going to pass out on the hwy and die.
I told my parents what happened. They are convinced that I don't eat. Whatever, I eat CONTSTANTLY! LOL Seriously, I could never be an anerexic. But I am really freaked over this. I will be calling the dr tomorrow, but help ease my mind some ladies! What could this be caused from? I had a total work up in Nov. and am negative for diabetes, cholestrol is good etc etc. Oh, and btw I have not taken any vicoden since I have filled the prescription. Didn't want to be too tired to wake up at 5am today or for work. I did take 5 100mg Advil today but I have been taking it all week and the Dr said that was fine for during the day and to take the Vicoden at night. Plus, I took that around 6:30am so it was not in my system at the time that I got dizzy. Could it be something like low iron? I know that I don't eat enough meat but I do eat a lot of almonds, peanuts and cashews. Oh, and ever since I had my dizzy spell tonight my eyes are blurred. It's like they can't focus well. I just ate a bowl of Healthy Choice Chicken and dumplings soup and a granola bar so we will see if that helps.
Any suggestions, comments, ideas? I never would have thought that I could pass out while sitting in a car driving. Have I mentioned how totally FREAKED I am over this?

Well I just looked up 'low iron and fainting spells' and that could definitely be the culprit. Guess I will see about getting an iron test done tomorrow or something. I feel a little better now Still freaky though!

I wouls say either sugar or iron?? I know if I dont eat all am then eat a big lunch I get light headed and could just lay down and pass out. That is pretty scarry. Do you get migraines?? Call your Dr and see what they say. DOnt put it off.

I didn't realize that ... That IS scary! Did they check your electrolytes, blood pressure and all that jazz today? We never did find out for certain why I kept passing out last year and it still scares the hell out of me! I've had all sorts of blood work done, MRIs, CAT scans, EKGs, EEGs .. you name it. I'm sure that isn't much help to you, but it was just written off as "unknown fainting spells". It certainly doesn't sound to me like it would be lack of food (although I'm no expert) ... but I'd definitely go back and have all that stuff checked. The fact that you still have a headache might have something to do with it (migraines can do that, can't they??)

Hope they have an answer for you and it's nothing serious

I've had migraines all week after bumping my head Saturday night. That is why the dr prescribed me vicoden.

It could be your blood sugar. By the time you'd get anywhere to test it your sugar could be back to normal. Have you ever been tested for diabetes?

Vicoden never helped my migraines anyway.

Dawn, all they did yesterday was take my blood pressure then check my ears, eyes, nose and she had me do some stuff to check my reflexes or something. They didn't do any blood work. I will definitely be calling in the morning. Darn it, I was looking forward to a day of shopping, not going to the dr again!

Yeah, they checked me for diabetes since it runs in the family and the tests came back fine.
The 5 advil that I took today actually helped my head a TON! Today was my first real day of feeling normal
Okay, here is something strange. I finished eating right before I typed up this post. My tongue is TINGLING. WTF does that mean? Seriously, it is like my tongue has fallen asleep! Never in my life have I ever had this feeling. I am weird.

I had that happen the other day in the car too. I got really hot and dizzy and was really fighting the urge to lay my head down and close my eyes while driving.

I hope you figure out what is going on.

gosh, as I sit here I am getting way dizzy again. I think that I will see if I have any old iron pills from when I was pg. This is scaring me.

Honey, I don't know what to tell you...might be an inner ear issue. Have they though to look into Meniere's (sp?) disease or something similar? Have they done a CT of your head? MRI? You know how I am....I'd be forcing the issue until they checked absolutely everything. If they've done labs and all is well, I'd keep looking at other options. I'm only a call, IM, PM or email away!

When they check for diabetes.. ( HYPERglycemia.. ) Do they also check for Hypocglycemia? I would do what Kim said and just not let it rest until everything was checked out. You don't pass out for no reason what so ever.

If you think it's an iron issue - start taking a multi vitamin (a prenatal one - they've got lots of everything) daily and see if that helps some. It could be a circulatory issue, or a blood sugar issue, too.

Passing out is nothing to fool with - make them check EVERYTHING.
