I don't know the first thing about back spasms and throwing out one's back. Where can I find information about how to lift and help dh? What OTC medication works the best for this? Thanks!

He can try robaxacet (sp?) also alternate between heat (to relax the muscles) and ice (for the swelling). You can also buy those "heating pads" that stick to your back....those things work great, adn stay hot for quite awhile...

How the heck did he manage to hurt his back?

If he can take ibuprofen have him take 600 mg every 6 hours. Mike's doctor had him taking it that way when he pulled a muscle. It really helps with the spasms and reduces any swelling. Just make sure he eats a little something when taking that much or it can give him a tummy ache. If after 2 or 3 days of that much though if it hasn't helped then see a doctor.

It's a long story. I talked to the pharmaist at Walmart and she gave me some advice. How do I move him and help him up if he should fall down again?

Oh hon I don't know that you'll be able to help him up. I'm going to you don't have to. I know I'd sure have a hard time helping Mike up, he's just too heavy for me.

I had to lift him up yesterday several times, because he kept collapsing. It was tough. We are about the same size and I'm not as in shape as I was before I got pregnant. I'm going to have to start working out the first minute I can in case this happens again. I hope he's better today and I don't have to lift him again.
