Do you have any clothing brands that you routinely like to buy for your child? Something that is way cute as well as durable.

I'm actually amazed that I really like the Kelly kids jumpers, as well as a huge mix of other brands....

I buy cause its cute - not by brand - unless I find a crappy brand - then I shy away.

I'm with Karen. I buy it because it's cute. And usually because it's cheap. If it happens to be a name brand, then that's a plus, but I don't buy a name brand because I just HAVE to have a name brand. I really do like Tommy Hilfiger shirts. I know they're not as popular as they used to be, but I think they look really nice on him and they wash and iron up so crisp.

Hmmm....I guess I didn't ask that right....

Let me try again....

Are there certain brands that you like...... ones that are durable, wash well and are in your price range that you really like....one that you go....OOOOH That's Cute! And it's "X" brand so it will be great!

That's kinda where I was going with it. The reason I ask is because I have gotten Lauren some of the Kelly Kids brand jumpers and I LOVE the construction of them...they wash and wear well. I know I will get this from Kelly Kids brand when I buy these items, so I'm confident in my purchase (usually on Ebay! )

There....now that's clear as mud......

I go for the name brands because they last sooo much longer and they aren't usually the 'norm'. I like different clothing that stands out rather then the same ol same ol that you find at WM or Target (although I do find things at Target that are just too cute from time to time).
The brands that are the most durable for us is Hanna Andersson, Zoodles, Chicken Noodle, Beetlejuice, Little Mass and Lipstik. Of course Gymboree isn't boutique but their clothing does really well for us. Well made and super soft cottons etc.

I understood you the first time Kim

but my answer is no. and not so much cause I don't want to - I just can't afford to. and I'd have to drive like an hour to get to somewhere that has brand name "boutique" stuff. and at this point in my life I'd rather spend that hour at home sewing them something than 2 hours in a car (one there and one back) It's too much on me with all three now.

I'm really liking the George Baby Organic brand at Walmart. They carry REALLY cute boy and girl stuff. I have to look so hard for really cute boy stuff. I wait til their on sale though cause otherwise it's expensive.

Kelly's Kids is really durable, Kim. I am also a big Hanna Andersson fan, they last an eternity. Well worth the cost in my opinion... Gymbo is good, and I will always get Old Navy jeans, they last under any condition my monsters give them.... Indygo wears well, but I admit, I always hang Olivia's clothes to dry, so I may be a lousy judge.

I don't spend a whole lot on the girls' clothes, because they don't wear them that long and clothes are expensive. I make a lot of their clothes or get them on sale. I think Sears has really durable clothes.

I tend to buy more Gymbo, I think they are made well and wash well. Of course, I don't pay the prices, I wait until it hits clearance on line, so it is a good deal for me. Other wise, I will buy Target brand, especially for play clothes. I haven't really found a brand that was just terrible. Most of our clothes are hitting round 3 with Ryan and still in pretty good shape, especially the Gymbo stuff.

I just buy whatever is cute and cheap. most of the clothing seems to wear out just the same so far to me.

I buy a lot of Gymboree.

Re: Clothing Brands

The best I've found is Iplay baby wear. We'll be carrying their line of organic baby clothes starting next week.

Re: Clothing Brands

I just buy whatever is cute and cheap too, but lately Aaron has expressed interest in Skecher's shoes. He's too young to think about labels!

Re: Clothing Brands

My tastes have changed incredibly between Haley being young enough for me to dress and Brenna. I love Gap and Ralph Lauren because they are classic and hold up really well but I've been leaning toward customs and the slightly stange with brands like Kaboo & Beetlejuice. I'm very in to pants under dresses, ruffles, and matching hairbows right now. My fave outfits on B are an orange corderoy (sp?) swing style tank top with a funky girl embroydered on it by Kadoo and her dark blue skinny jeans and a capri length halterall with ruffles around the legs that I bought custom on ebay... it's a blue, brown, and white paisley.

Re: Clothing Brands

There is such a difference in boys and girls clothes. And with Drew & Ally being almost 7 years apart, the brands are constantly changing.

Ally is rough on clothes - more so than Drew ever was. She gets alot of brand name hand-me-downs (with 5 girls cousins older than her, plus 2 friends with older girls, we get alot!). Normally, I buy her whatever I find that we like - no particular brand. But I do tend to get her stuff from Walmart and Target because I refuse to spend alot when she is constantly tearing them up.

For Drew, I always liked Old Navy, GAP and Tommy Hilfiger. Now that he is older, he doesn't really care. He's not much into what he wears - in fact we fight about how he dresses (WHY don't they wear their pants at their waist?). He does like the Urban Pipeline jeans we get at Kohl's because they fit him better. Other than that, he could care less! But, then again he's a teenage boy!
