So Kale has started his end of year assessment .. the teacher starts it early so that if they "fail" it, they have 2 more opportunities to pass it. Kale passed with flying colors, so she gave him the 1st grade assessment test and he passed it. He is reading on the 2nd grade level and already starting subtraction with carrying numbers
Next year he will go to a 1st grade advance class and be pulled from the reading part of their day to go to a 2nd grade class.
Oh and on the assessment they had to write a story .. 100% on their own, using phonics to spell out the words. Most kids write one sentence and draw a picture and that is fantastic .. but my little man wrote 6 sentences, drew a picture and only spelled 2 words incorrectly!!!
