Do you know what CHAD is?

Does your child's car seat have a CHAD sticker?

Children Have An iDentity.

It was started because a child named Chad was in a car accident with his babysitter driving. The sitter was killed and no one could identify the child. A nurse at the ER recognized him and contacted his parents. If you google CHAD Children have an Identity you can get a sticker for your child's car seat.

I got one in the mail and put it on right away, but I thought it was such a great idea that if you haven't heard of it you should get one. Alot of the sites are run by the state DOT but I think most states use it now. It tells you where to put the sticker so that safety workers can find it in case of an emergency.

There is one of the sites that shows what the sticker looks like.

Don't wait, you can get more when she upgrades. Lyssa and Kate's should have them on theirs too. If something happened and they couldn't tell someone who they were then they could still contact someone.

Why not just write on the side of the seat with a Sharpie? It doesn't have to be a special sticker. Or write on masking tape and stick that on. ???

It's supposed to make it easier for the emergency workers. This sticker has his name, birthdate, doctor's number, our names and numbers, and another emergency contact. It's just a nice neat way to get a lot of info on the seat.
