Hernia?

Sat early am, I had a bad coughing fit. I either pulled a muscle in my lower abodmen or have managed to develop a hernia. I dont feel a lump though. It is right above the right side of my c-section scars. It usualy comes and goes with more coughing but last night became more steady, the pain that is. When I got ready for bed as soon as I took my jeans and belt off, the pain was more severe. I got up at 6am and took some nyquill and more motrin bc the coughing was bad again and the pain in my lower abdomen was worse. Nows its a dull ache. unless coughing or bending over. The pain at its worse is less then a 5 on a scale of 1-10. Could this be a hernia?? I dont feel the pain is bad enough to go to the ER. I cant hold off and call my dr tomorrow. I dont notice an aobvious lump but my stomache muscles are always lax so unless it was huge I dont htink I would feel it anyway.

Well Mike just had hernia surgery. He couldn't feel the lump himself but he was in AGONY. The only real way to know is to get into the doctor for an exam. It took them over a month to find Mike's though, I really really hope you don't have one because the surgery is NOT fun.

THanks, I am hoping it isnt that either. I have a lot of scar tissue from my sections and when I had my tubes tied. It could be one of many thing. I am gonna call the dr tomorrow. Motrin keeps it to a dull roar. It is sharp when I cough and movement makes it hurt more too. I am hoping its just a muscle strain.

My hernia protruded, but mine was pretty big. I never felt any pain, because I am numb in that area from 3 c-sections.

lol My skin is numb but not underneath it. Its more like the top layers are numb to light touch. There isnt anything protruding where the pain is but my tummy has never been the same since my sections. So unless it is something huge I wouldnt be able to tell.

if it gets worse when you cough or with activity that's one of the signs of a hernia I really hope you just strained a muscle.
