OK--I need some advice...
I've gotten a gift for pretty much everybody I work with who's had a baby since I've been working here. Except maybe once, and the person was a temp who had just started here, and I didn't know them. And I also didn't know about the baby until way after it was born. The people who worked around him took up money and got him a gift card.
Well, I just found out today that a guy out on the line has a new baby. About 2 weeks old now. Nobody ever told me they were expecting, and nobody ever got me the information to make a congratulations sign. I know the guy. Not extremely well, but I did help him get his foot in the door here and get all his paperwork straight to come to work for us.
I am wondering what would be appropriate gift wise. A card? A couple of small things like pacifiers and a toy? Blanket? I don't know. I feel bad that nobody even said anything to him until he brought in pictures of the baby.
