Don't wait! Start looking into it NOW. I was a little disappointed to find out that our local community college has many online courses. Why disappointed?? I could have been taking them for the last year or two instead of thinking I had to wait until all the kids were in school. They are real college courses and count for credit, are eligible for financial aid, and would have given me a HUGE jump on going back to school this year.

So if you're thinking about going back in a few years .. it would be worthwhile to go ahead and look into it now!

I've been perusing college websites - but
A - I can't afford it
B - I have no time
C - I'm just too chicken to take the leap so I'll keep repeating A & B

A - you won't know until you apply for financial aid. I made this mistake and two years ago, I would have qualified for Pell grants.

Ya Karen you might qualify for a pell grant. It doesn't cost anything to apply for FAFSA. Most schools it's only $30 to do the application for the actual college too.

You can do a lot of things online and you could only take one or two classes at a time. Tell Kev he NEEDS to help you out so that you can do something for yourself. Don't make it an option.

I know what you mean about being scared to do it. I'm TERRIFIED I'm not going to be able to handle it all or that I'm not smart enough to actually do this. But ya know what?! I am and I CAN!

I did not know that. Hmmmm....

I've been thinking about going back for another minor or working on my Master's.

I have ALMOST enough (need two more classes) for a second minor.

I just can't find an online Master's program that (1) Offers what I want, and (2) Doesn't cost an ever-loving fortune. I may have to look at some of the local schools.

I can't qualify for Pell because I already have a degree. So, it would have to be loans or pay out of pocket. But, it would give me reason to defer my current loan payments. Hmmmm.

I don't want to do it right now on the verge on Bankruptcy. We aren't in a good spot to do it right now either.

I'm in the same boat as most of you.  Not quite broke, but noooo time at all! :( And really want to go back to school, have been thinking about it for ages, but can't seem to muster up the courage/motivation/time to actually do it.  Online courses might work though, I've been looking at some of the programs on http://www.nursingschool.net (really want to be a nurse eventually!) and I think it's possible.  Well scratch that - I know it's possible, I just need to get off my hiney and do it!
