She doesn't nap

I'm going to lose my marbles. Peyton gets up around 7 and plays happily til about 9 when I feed her. Then she either plays or goes in her swing while I sew. She eats again around 11 and knonks out while we get Lys from school - if I'm lucky she naps 30 minutes.

Then she plays again happily for a bit before getting crabby. I feed her she falls asleep - but is back up within 45 minutes.

I seem to remember the others sleeping more. Peyton does not. She's not overly crabby either. I just need her to take one GOOD 2 hour or so nap in the afternoon.

With Kate and Lyssa in the afternoon on overdrive - especially if Kate doesn't nap - I am loosing my marbles. Alyssa literally does not shut up from the minute I pick her up until she goes to bed. I can deal with the talking but she has a no it all attitude and thinks that because she says "I think" even after you tell her it's wrong - she's right. She's bright and intelligent but *I THINK* that because everyone tells her she's smart it's went to her head and is VERY ANNOYING.

So anyways. With Alyssa's I can say anything/do anything attitude, Kate's lack of naping and Peyton not napping I get NOTHING done.

Mommy needs a sanity break. (I would really like EVERYONE to be QUIET for a few hours. )

I soooooooooooooooo KWYM. Lauren rarely napped. If I EVER got a 2 hr. nap out of her, I'd be checking very frequently! Ryan's better at napping if she would leave him alone....which has been solved by the new addition getting finished!

If you figure it out tell me. Gabe only takes 1 30 min nap and one that's MAYBE an hour long. I find that putting him in his crib actually gets him to sleep a little longer because if he falls asleep in the swing weird things wake him up.

He's not crabby either and is a good night sleeper so I don't really complain.

but you have ONE child. It's so much easier when you aren't trying to clean up the house and tend to everyone's needs.

Peyton's sleeping well at night too. But I need her to nap during the DAY so I can do things

That's why I plan to only have one, I know I handle that.

I put Lizzie in her crib for nap times. I put her in her crib awake and she will fall asleep. She will often wake up in the middle of her nap, but then go back to sleep. If she weren't in her crib, I don't think she would go back to sleep. I try to keep a regular schedule and that seems to help her sleep better. She takes a 2 hour morning nap, a 2 hour afternoon nap, and a 1 hour evening nap

I've got no advice for your other kids though. My middle 2 kids took few naps after 2 years old. And they all talk to me constantly because they never leave

I don't mind that they don't take naps. I can deal with that. I just wish they could play by themselves for like 30 minutes or find something quiet to do. Or heck - they could play in their room rather than dragging it into the living room!

I can handle all three girls. I love all three girls. Handling them isn't the issue (nothing is really I just wanted to share with someone cause Kev wasn't home to take them off my hands )

Peyton sleeps like a champ when dad holds her

OK well whatever. I am just rambling now. Just needed some adult interaction. Peyton needed some down time so I couldn't sew and Kev wasn't home.

Ok leaving now

Nobody said you couldn't handle your kids. I didn't mean to offend you if I did.

Nope not at you - not offended

Kate was not much of a sleeper either. Thank goodness Cara is. And a much better eater as well. It's during my workout that she's driving me nuts.

I feel for ya hon. Nick was like that too. He rarely napped...and when he did, it was never for very long....I think I was lucky to get 30-45 min. out of him....hence the reason i never sewed too much. He didn't like his swing, exersaucer, being on the floor.......he just wanted me....ALL THE TIME

Well she's happy playing on the floor - for awhile.
She's happy in her swing - for awhile

Maybe I just expect too much

I guess it's just that I can't leave her on the floor when I sew - the girls play there too and I can't keep an eye on everybody and Kate doesn't watch where she's going.

All in all I got ALOT done today. I think I just need to space things out. And make sure I MAKE time for the girls too.
