Rat poison was found in the pet food suspected of causing kidney failure that killed at least 16 cats and dogs, but scientists still don't know how it got there, state officials said Friday.

I rechecked the list of foods affected and it has gotten longer. So you may want to check it again. Fortunately, we didn't get any of the bad food.

THEY KNEW ABOUT THIS IN DECEMBER!!!

You have no idea how mad I am about this! If this had been food for people they would have pulled it and THEN tested not kept feeding it to us. Why should our pets be any different. I think it's time the pet food industry stops policing itself.

OMG I am soooo glad that the food we give our is not on that list at all
There needs to be a regulatory body responsible for pet food, and what goes into it.....right now the companies can put whatever they want into pet food, and no one says boo

ya don't get me started on pet food. We feed nutro but not the pouches. If there was a place around here that sold what I used to feed I'd be happier. It's a completely organic pet food. My pets eat better then I do

I'm beyond ticked about this and my pets weren't even involved. They're lucky one of my cats didn't get sick because I'd be starting a class action lawsuit. Which I've heard is in the works anyhow. It's just ridiculous and so irresponsible of them. Vets have been trying to get the FDA to regulate the pet food industry for YEARS, maybe this will make the difference.
