Unexplained bruising?

I'm heading to my neuro appt shortly, but thought I'd post here, in case someone here had an idea. I am going to ask the neuro, too (heck, maybe I'll post my own answer here )

I noticed last week I developed a doozy of a bruise on my left arm (a couple inches in diameter - looked much worse than it was). I think I know where it came from, as we'd move a large mirror the day before, and I probably hit my arm with it. Today I noticed a couple of small bruises on my stomach - one nearly yellow (like it's almost gone), and the other still a little purple. I don't remember hitting my stomach (and it's so soft, I can't imagine hitting it hard enough to bruise without knowing it ).

Could the Prednisone or Ativan be making me more susceptible to bruising? Or perhaps the BP meds? When I got the bruise on my arm, I stopped taking the daily aspirin, because I know that slows the healing process for bruises.

I think that the prednisone might cause bruising. I'd mention it to the doctor.

Write down your list of questions before you go too. Are they doing more tests today? blood work?

I would mention it to your dr.....it could be because of your meds, or you may be low on iron I think it is (but don't quote me on that)

My first thought was the prednisone, too.

I mentioned it, and he also thought it could be prednisone, especially since I got the dose via IV on Monday night. Happily, it's only a few more days of prednisone, and things should be getting back to normal. Once I finish off the prednisone, I am supposed to resume taking baby aspirin daily - I need to wait for the bruises to subside a bit more first.

No more tests at the moment, but I do need to go in for another EEG in a couple of weeks. He saw something in the one they did at the hospital (he said it looked "slow", whatever that means) so he wants to repeat it in his office.
