Cramping in early pregnancy

My neighbor just found out she is pregnant. She's been really sick with the flu, etc. and had a lot of nausea. She just figured it was from sinus drainage or something and let it go for a week or so. She said she'd been cramping for over a week so she assumed that she was just late, but she never started bleeding. When she was about 3 or 4 days late, she took a HPT and it was a very faint positive.

Is cramping in early pregnancy normal? She asked me and I really didn't know what to tell her. I didn't have it with any of mine, and I don't want to worry her since this is her first.

I did with mine on and off in the beginning...and it could be possible that because she had the flu....if she was throwing up she could have pulled muscles. If it keeps up though or gets worse......or heaven forbid, there is bleeding then she would need to see her dr.......or even if she is worried she should see her dr.....that is what they are there for

Congrats for your friend

I would think if she's throwing up it could me pulled muscles like Liz suggested. I know when I'm not pregnant and I puke my stomach hurts. I hope everything gets better for your friend as she startes to get well.

I had cramping off and on early in my pregnancy. I had morning sickness REALLY bad too and that made the cramping worse because of throwing up.
