McKENZIE AUSTIN PHILLIPS, 17, of Fayetteville died Saturday. Funeral, 11 a.m. today, Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
Very sad! This kid had a rough life. There are four kids in his family, and when I taught his older brother, Austin was in 7th grade, they were all removed from their home due to severe neglect/abandonment by their mom. The next year, I taught Austin, and he was very shut off and emotionally flat. It broke my heart. Now this. I feel so sorry for his family. I couldn't find his obituary until today, just a few minutes ago, actually, so I missed the funeral.
