OMG - what happened to the days of tornado drills?

Colin and Zach are playing together and I just heard Colin mentiond a "lock down drill". He asked Zach if he knew what that was and then explained that it is where you go sit in the bathroom, lock the door, and stay very quiet. How scary is it that an Elementary school is having to practice a lock down?

Yeah my high school started doing that after the Columbine shootings happen. All the schools in the district did. It's scary especially since that's a really safe district.

Kids don't get to be kids very long anymore, it's sad.
